MASTER OF FORENSIC ENGINEERING

The program aims to integrate and generate an advanced and in-depth knowledge in specific field of Forensic Engineering in professional practices. This program combines four main areas which relates to the failure of structural and construction in civil, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering.

The purpose of a forensic engineering investigation is to locate cause or causes of failure with a view to improve performance or life of a component, or to assist a court in determining the facts of an accident.

Forensic engineers often are used in product’s, design’s or object’s failure.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME

4-8 Semesters

  • A recognized Bachelor’s Degree with good honours with minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 or equivalent.
  • International applicants must satisfy academic admission and English language proficiency requirements (IELTS band 6, TOEFL score 550 or CEFR B2) and any other conditions specified.
  • Candidates from English speaking countries are exempted from the UTM English Language requirements.
International students who wish to enroll in the postgraduate programs at UTM must meet the English language competency requirements as stipulated below:

  • Malaysia University Entrance Test (MUET) with a minimum score of Band 4.0 and above; or
  • IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6.0 and above; or
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 60 and above; or
  • Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), with a minimum score of 168 and above; or
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with a minimum score of 59 and above; or
  • Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) achieving Level 109 and above.
